Ruth Bibby

This is Ruth Bibby, my stylish friend. She is a senior (yay) and these are her portraits. :) We had the BEST time traipsing around downtown in the frigid wind, in physical contradiction to one another, asking for directions from an officer and being ignored, running across the streets despite the green lights, and eventually getting snowed out. When she asked me what she should wear, I said something to the effect of, 'Oh, cute? You got it, I'm sure.' I think I very vaguely suggested a gold dress I'd seen her wear before, but whatever I said, she planned the CUTEST outfits. Kudos to Ruth! Here are a *VERY* few of my favorite images from her session. I hope you enjoy them! Ruth is also pursuing photography and wanted a few shots with her Nikon. Haha. I told you we were a contradiction! *NOTE: I only shoot with the best ;)* I was going to say this is my favorite, but these are all my favorites! This one is one of my TOP favorites. A red wall. Oh. My. GAH!!!!!!!!!!! (stops. panting.) :) I like red walls. Mmhmm. That's what I'm talking about. I LOVE this - she's so amazing. We kept having the same ideas for shots and angles... I think she said she liked these ones. ;) You like? Click here to see more!

New and Exciting!

So.... I got this awesome package in the mail the other day:

WHOA! Says I. I'm so excited! I mean, John prepared my shipment AND he threw in a Tootsie Pop! Oh, and it's my new business cards. YES! But first, a brief look at the evolution of my business cards. Ugh. It's not always been cool.

I burned every copy of my first card, so here's Card #2 where I went with a vertical card:

Card #3: where I got all kinds of creative!

And now (drum roll) my uber cool newly branded business cards! There are three awesome designs but all three share the same front side:

So I hope you like them as much as I do! I'm in love! I have more awesome posts to show you, but for now I'm off to nap and then movie night with a pal!

Nathan J - Senior

Here are some of my favorite images from Nathan's senior shoot. We started at his house but then found so fabulous spots in downtown Apex and around our church.

Happy graduation - slightly early - Nathan!

Hewe's - Family

Meet the Hewes. I met Joanne at work and as we got to know each other it came about that I was a photographer. Seeing as how her daughter had recently married and her mother-in-law just moved in with them, Joanne jumped at the idea of family portraits.

Adorable Justin and Amy: When I walked in and saw Justin in an argyle sweater vest, I about flipped. Can you say perfect? (Kudos to Amy!) He proceeded to inform me that he was a die-hard redneck, and if we thought the vest wasn't quite redneck style, that he was definitely returning it. I think we convinced him to keep it. :)
Amy, Daniel, and Leanne. David and Joanne.

It was such a pleasure meeting the rest of your wonderful family and I know I had a great time! Thank you for allowing my to capture your family, Joanne! To see more of the images, click here.

David - Senior

I knocked on the door, and entering, was taken aback by the large stack of clothes on hangers. I looked up at David, and he just smiled. Piling all of his stuff into the van, we headed out. We spent some time in the woods...... but moved pretty quickly to downtown Raleigh, where we came upon some amazing places.

David plays the electric guitar in an awesome band and since they're such an awesome band, he decided to wear his rocking outfit for some of the pics. The band's, Flowers For Faye, colors are black and orange so when we happened upon this... Cait got all excited.

The entire band wears bright orange converse for every show, so I thought it was appropriate to highlight these amazing shoes. The FFF signature cons: This picture is my Justin&Mary picture. When I took it, I immediately thought of Justin and Mary Marantz, two AMAZING, AMAZING photographers in New England. Perhaps I thought of them because they way they shoot is clean and clear, perhaps because they're so flippin' awesome and I'd love to be like them! Whatever the reason, here is my *attempt* at a Justin&Mary photo:

Ginny - Anytime

I don't know how it happened. It just did. All at once I had this great friend who always makes me laugh and who likes to get coffee. She leaves the best messages and keeps me from feeling stupid. When one of us trips over something the other helps her up, laughing at her lack of skillz.

She is awesome. She is Ginny.

Emma - Senior

Drifting through the meeting room, I listen to different conversations. Joining one, I begin to share a mistake I made in scheduling and ask for any advice. As everyone ponders what to say, one person begins to sing... "We're gonna work, work, work this out. We'll make things right, the SUN will shine!" (this example was conceived to make a point, not necessarily portray accuracy) Meet Emma, expert on all things "High School Musical, " JoBro, and Demi Lovato (she'll comment and tell me if I spelled her name incorrectly).

Emma is a dear girl whom I have loved for the past several years. Eloquent and fluent in the longer words of our language, I am constantly off to the dictionary in an attempt to understand her. I love her use of scarves and purple boots and I love her laugh. She writes the BEST letters and hugs so tightly. Her porcelain skin makes baffles me when I apply theatre make-up, and she laughs at my faces.

Emma, you ROCK! I love you and I had so much fun on your shoot! Thanks for wearing awesome boots and for HSM jumping off so many different things for me!
